IAN
LOWDON Ian was born in Zambia, schooled in Zimbabwe and educated at Rhodes University in Grahamstown where he completed an Honours Degree in Psychology. Ian worked for a number of large companies such as General Motors, Afrox and Dresser Industries in a Human Resources capacity. In 1985 he went out on his own consulting on a wide variety of HR related issues and at the same time becoming involved in psychometric testing and career planning particularly at the matric level. He also consulted at MediKredit after the Glaxo-Lilly purchase. He was described as the "longest serving consultant" when he finally left after some 18 months. He joined KwaZulu Natal Medical Aid Scheme as HR Manager in 1996 and moved into operations in 1999. The scheme was placed under curatorship and the administrator was liquidated during 1999. Happily 2 years later they had money in the bank, the curatorship ended positively and new Trustees and Administrators were appointed. Ian joined MHS as Operations and Human Resources Manager in 2002. |
